8e6 Technologies Enhances R3000 Product Line-up With New Filtering Appliances
Company Targets Small and High-end Segments With R3000M Entry-Level and R3000G Gigabit-Ready Models
Orange, CA, January 21, 2004 – – 8e6 Technologies today announced it has added two new models to its R3000 family of filtering appliance servers. Coming off the successful launch of the R3000 Enterprise Filter in November, 8e6 has expanded its product line-up by offering the R3000M targeted at environments of less than 500 users and the R3000G providing Gigabit-ready technology for improved performance.
R3000M Enterprise Filter
The entry-level and affordable R3000M filtering appliance meets the needs of the smaller business and education environments while maintaining the feature-rich attributes found in the flagship R3000. "Our resellers and customers asked for it and we've answered with the R3000M," states George Shih, Founder and CEO of 8e6 Technologies. "With the mainstream R3000 off and running for the mid- to high-end enterprise, 8e6 will be expanding its products and markets in 2004 and the R3000M is the first step towards that."
The R3000M features include Instant Message Blocking, User Authentication and 78 Category Library Database just to name a few. The R3000M 500 user license is priced at $5,500 MSRP and is available for immediate shipments.
R3000G Enterprise Filter
8e6 will begin shipping high-performance Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) technology as an option on its recently announced R3000 Enterprise Filter. Building upon the success of its R2000 predecessor, which boasts several thousand installations worldwide, the addition of GigE to the R3000 will help clients see improved performance gains of up to 33% depending on their network infrastructure.
8e6’s Gigabit Ethernet capability is completely backward compatible providing a cost-efficient way to future-proof a company's technology. The system works with today's 10/100 Mbps Ethernet while protecting a company's long-term technology investment by supporting the 1000 Mbps Ethernet service when it is deployed in the enterprise.  The R3000G Enterprise Filter option is priced at $1,995 MSRP and is available immediately for shipments.
